  • What got you into multisport?: Friends who were into it, crushes on girls who were into it, and the U.T. triathlon club (recently resurrected)

What are you primary goals in triathlon?:
  • Right now: to decrease the difference between my triathlon running and my running on its own, and to impress my girlfriend, Carrie.
  • Long term: to stay fit and healthy and to always strive for improvement, and to impress my girlfriend, Carrie.
  • What do you do for fun besides multisport?: I love travelling, camping, playing air hockey, and memorizing quotes from old movies, and to ride my chopper bike with the gang from Austin Tri-Cyclist.
Advice for new triathletes: Don't be intimidated. Triathlons are fun, and there is nothing wrong with recognizing it and having a good time. Those mega macho idiots who try to make it all serious and militant don't matter. Ignore them.
Favorite Swimming Location: Barton Springs, but only if I have my full wetsuit. I also like Rollingwood pool.
Personal Favorite Cycling Route/Location: Lost creek, Barton creek, Courtyard, Jester, Backside of Jester, Backside of Courtyard, Barton creek, Lost creek.

Personal Favorite Product(s): my Pearl Izumi hat that I cut the top out of so it's a visor. It's just great.
Personal Favorite Quote: "It doesn't matter what you put in the furnace, as long as you turn up the fire."
Personal Favorite Movie: The Legend of Drunken Master, with Jackie Chan
Personal Favorite Food: Plain Cheese Pizza
Most Embarrassing Moment in Triathlon: Missing the start of the Lubbock Half Ironman, running from transition with my wetsuit still around my waist.
Role Model(s)..(and why): Pauli Kiru, for always finishing his races, even if he had to walk. And Dick and Ricky Hoyt, for overcoming more than I will ever have to.
    Profession: Bicycle Mechanic

Webmaster note: Thank you Ivy from all us neurotic always last minute multisporters who bring in our bikes and ask you to have it ready "yesterday". We love ya!
